قوانين ومشاريع النادي/Club Policy and Projects:
• The mission of Eco-club:
It is to encourage students to live a "greener" lifestyle at home and at school. By teaching students at a young age to be environmentally aware, Eco-club aims to build lifelong habits that could potentially make a dramatic difference in the future of the earth.
• The vision of Eco-club:
It is a school where students act to conserve nature for its own sake and for its ability to fulfill our needs and enrich our lives. The Club’s pledge is to raise awareness of different environmental issues promoting a green campus at R.H.H.S, including recycling and energy conservation.
• The goal of Eco-club:
Eco-club is dedicated to environmental improvements that foster a sustainable future and lead to a cleaner school thus improving our local environmental quality.
• Age group:
Grades 4, 5 and 8 students, ranging between 10 and 14 years old.
Starting mid October ending in mid May, 2016-2017.
• Weekly meeting:
Every Friday on the second period at 8:35 am with the principal (Mrs Hiba Abou Alfa), and 5 other sessions during school hours with Zeina Halabi ,Souheir Abdallah and Jana Habli .
The activities and resources include methods for reducing waste and trash, information about product consumption, recycling tips, facts about pollution and its effects on the environment, and plenty of projects for students to complete inside and outside the classroom.
1-Planting sunflower to drive the school as an oxygen engine.
2- Holding “Make a difference day” that includes forming recycled art sculptures, planting, and many other activities.
3- Creating stickers of slogans and pasting them on electric outlets and above faucets in toilets.
4- Placing proverbs on the back of our school buses.
5- Proceeding with promoting recycling in the colored bins.
6- Carrying “Blue and black bag” campaign.
7- Creating a green school mural.
8- Delivering environmental presentations to peers.
9- Going on an environmentally-focused field trip.
10-Promoting special occasions like Waste Reduction Week (Hold a waste-free lunch day , host a schoolyard clean-up, introduce paper reduction , and implement waste reduction initiatives in the cafeteria.
11- Visiting the minister of environment to discuss current environmental issues.
